Conveyor belt maintenance and storage methods

Feb 03, 2023

1. During transportation and storage, the conveyor belt should be kept clean, not exposed to direct sunlight or soaked in rain and snow, and not in contact with acids, alkalis, oils, organic solvents, etc., and kept away from heating devices one meter away.
2. During storage, the warehouse temperature should be kept between 18-40 ℃, and the relative humidity should be kept between 50-80%.
3. During the storage period, the product should be placed in rolls and not folded. During the storage period, it should be turned once a quarter.
4. Conveyor belts of different types and specifications should not be used together, and the joints should be glued as much as possible.
5. The type, structure, specification and number of layers of the conveyor belt should be selected reasonably according to the conditions of use.
6. The running speed of the conveyor belt should generally not be greater than 2.5 m/s. The material with large lumps and abrasiveness and the unloading device using fixed pears should be as low as possible.
7. The relationship between the diameter of the transmission roller of the conveyor and the cloth layer of the conveyor belt, the matching of the transmission roller and the diverting roller, and the requirements for the groove angle of the idler should be reasonably selected according to the design regulations of the conveyor.
8. The feeding direction should follow the running direction of the conveyor belt. In order to reduce the impact on the belt when the material falls, a chute should be used to reduce the falling distance of the material; the belt receiving section should shorten the distance between the rollers and use the buffer roller as the material leakage , The belt should adopt a soft and moderate baffle to prevent the baffle from being too hard and scratching the belt surface of the conveyor belt.
9. The following items should be paid attention to when using the conveyor belt:
(1) Avoid the idler roller being covered by the material, resulting in ineffective rotation, and prevent the leakage of material from being stuck between the roller and the belt, pay attention to the lubrication of the moving parts, but do not transport the belt with oil;
(2) Avoid starting with load;
(3) If the tape deviates, take measures to correct it during application;
(4) When local damage to the tape is found, it should be repaired in time to avoid expansion.
